The presented doctoral dissertation comprises a senes of articles based on a cross-sectional survey conducted on a representative sample of Polish internet users. The analysis provides insights into the sociodemographic and psychological determinants of cyberchondria. The main research ąuestions of this dissertation focus on identifying health and e-health literacy as potential preventive factors against cyberchondria, as well as exploring its relationship with health anxiety. Another key issue examined is the overuse of Healthcare services by individuals affected by cyberchondria, which serves as an attempt to verify earlier hypotheses about the conseąuences of this phenomenon. e findings confirm the preventive role ofhigh health literacy, but not e-health literacy, in reducing susceptibility o cyberchondria severity. Moreover, it was confirmed that individuals burdened by cyberchondria were morę likely to e in the group of patients who freąuently utilize yarious forms of Healthcare seryices.
